Following the signing of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Madagascar and the European Union, farmers’ organizations and civil society wish to inform the public about the potential implications of the agreement for farmers’ seed rights and food sovereignty. We call for the full publication of the signed EPA and urge the Malagasy authorities to reject any commitment to UPOV or similar legislation that could undermine farmers’ rights to freely use, save, reproduce and exchange their own seeds.
